NRB Global Bank Limited was incorporated in 2013 with a vision to be the premier financial institution for Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs), providing a range of commercial banking services while facilitating foreign investment into Bangladesh. Founded by NRB entrepreneurs, its mission was to offer efficient, technology-driven banking solutions and contribute to the nation's economic development. In January 2021, the bank underwent a significant transformation, converting its operations to a full-fledged Islamic Shariah-based system and was officially renamed Global Islami Bank PLC.
