Established in 2013 as a joint venture between Japan's ORIX Corporation and Shinsei Bank, Nippon Wealth Limited obtained a restricted banking license from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) in 2015. The company's mission was to serve as a premier wealth management platform for affluent clients, with a particular focus on the Japanese market in Asia. In October 2020, its parent companies announced the decision to cease operations due to the challenging business environment. The company subsequently surrendered its banking license, which was officially revoked by the HKMA on 8 April 2021.
