NegocieCoins was a cryptocurrency brokerage founded in Brazil that allowed users to trade Bitcoin and other digital currencies. At its peak, it was one of the largest exchanges in the country by trading volume. However, the company became deeply embroiled in a massive financial pyramid scheme operated by G.A.S. Consultoria Bitcoin. Investigations by the Brazilian Federal Police, under "Operation Kryptos," revealed that NegocieCoins was the primary platform used by G.A.S. to move billions of reais. As a result, the company's owner was arrested, its assets were frozen, and its operations were shut down by judicial order in 2021.
