Promoted by the Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA), National Insurance VimoSEWA Cooperative Ltd. was registered in 2009 as India's first national-level mutual insurance cooperative. Its mission is to enhance the financial security of informal sector workers, particularly women, by offering a range of insurance products covering health, life, and assets. VimoSEWA operates on a member-centric model where the policyholders are also the owners, ensuring that the services and products are designed to meet their specific needs and vulnerabilities.
