The National Futures Association (NFA) is the premier independent provider of regulatory programs that protect investors and safeguard the integrity of the U.S. derivatives markets. Established in 1982, the NFA is a congressionally authorized self-regulatory organization (SRO) designated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Its mission is to protect investors and ensure market integrity by developing rules, providing compliance programs and services, enforcing disciplinary actions, and offering an arbitration forum for dispute resolution. The NFA's regulatory oversight covers on-exchange traded futures, retail off-exchange foreign currency (forex), and over-the-counter derivatives (swaps).
