National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) Limited was registered in 2020 as a state-owned microfinance company, taking over the assets and liabilities of the merged Malawi Enterprise Development Fund (MEDF) and Youth Enterprise Development Fund (MARDEF). Its primary mandate is to foster socio-economic development in Malawi by providing affordable credit and other financial services to underserved groups, including women, youth, and persons with disabilities, thereby promoting entrepreneurship and financial inclusion.
