Founded in 1949 to serve the employees of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), the credit union became NASA Federal Credit Union when NACA was succeeded by NASA. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, its mission is to empower members to achieve a brighter financial future by offering competitive rates, lower fees, and a comprehensive suite of financial services, including checking and savings accounts, loans, mortgages, and investment services. Membership is primarily open to current and retired employees of NASA and its partner organizations, as well as their families, though other paths to membership are available.
