Chartered in 1955, North Alabama Educators Credit Union (NAECU) was originally established to serve the employees of the Huntsville City School System. As a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative, its mission is to provide its members with a range of affordable and quality financial services. Unlike a traditional bank, NAECU returns its profits to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and fewer fees. Its field of membership has expanded over the years to include employees, students, and retirees of numerous school systems and educational institutions in the North Alabama region.
