Moonstone Bank
Information by Research Trustfinance
Originally founded in 1887 as Farmington State Bank, a small, single-branch community bank in Washington state, the company underwent a major transformation after receiving an $11.5 million investment from Alameda Research (the sister firm of FTX) in 2022. It rebranded as Moonstone Bank with a mission to become the banking partner of choice for crypto and fintech innovators. However, following the collapse of FTX and Alameda Research, the bank faced intense regulatory scrutiny. In January 2023, Moonstone Bank announced it would exit the crypto space and revert to its original name and community banking focus as Farmington State Bank.
