MoKash is a digital financial product resulting from a partnership between mobile network operator MTN and NCBA Bank. Launched to promote financial inclusion, the service enables registered MTN Mobile Money customers to open and operate a savings account (MoKash Savings) and apply for micro-loans (MoKash Loans) instantly through their mobile device without visiting a bank branch. The platform leverages the widespread use of mobile phones and mobile money to provide accessible banking services, particularly to unbanked and underbanked populations.
