Established in 1973 as the Bougainville Copper Limited Savings and Loan Society, the organization was rebranded as Mining and Petroleum Savings and Loan Society Limited (MPSL) in 2017. It is a member-owned society regulated by the Bank of Papua New Guinea. MPSL's mission is to provide secure, competitive, and accessible financial services to its members, who are predominantly from the mining, petroleum, and gas industries, along with their associated contractors. The society offers a range of products including various savings accounts, personal loans, and other financial services tailored to its membership base.
