Founded in 1997, MicroRate was the first rating agency in the world to specialize in microfinance. Its mission is to provide independent, high-quality analysis and risk ratings to promote transparency and investment in the microfinance and financial inclusion sectors. The company offers a range of services including financial risk ratings, social performance ratings, and other specialized evaluations to help financial institutions, investors, and regulators make informed decisions. It is authorized by the Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and AFPs (SBS) of Peru.
