It operated as an online broker specializing in Foreign Exchange (Forex) and Contracts for Difference (CFDs), providing access to trading platforms for retail clients. The company was regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). In July 2015, its client book was acquired by a larger competitor, GO Markets. Following the acquisition, Market Punter Pty Ltd ceased its trading operations, had its Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) cancelled in March 2017, and was officially deregistered as a company in November 2018.
