Founded in 1970, the Maritime Mining & Power Credit Union (MMPCU) was established to provide a full range of financial services to employees in Australia's maritime, mining, and power generation sectors. As a member-owned credit union, its mission has been to prioritise the financial wellbeing of its members over profits. In 2015, MMPCU merged with Unity Bank (formerly Reliance Credit Union), and it now operates as a dedicated division within Unity Bank, continuing to serve its core membership base with products like savings accounts, loans, and insurance.
