MARCO POLO
Information by Research TrustFinance
The Marco Polo Network was a leading initiative in digitizing global trade finance, developed by the technology firm TradeIX in partnership with R3 and a consortium of major financial institutions. Launched to streamline and modernize trade finance, it utilized R3's Corda blockchain technology to create a more secure, efficient, and transparent environment for financing and managing trade payables, receivables, and other assets. The network aimed to reduce the complexities and inefficiencies of traditional paper-based trade processes. Despite significant partnerships with global banks, the company ceased operations and was wound down in early 2023 after failing to secure further funding.
