Marco Polo Network
Information by Research TrustFinance
The Marco Polo Network was a collaborative trade finance initiative developed by technology firms TradeIX and R3. Built on R3's Corda blockchain platform, its mission was to modernize and streamline trade finance processes by creating a more secure, transparent, and efficient ecosystem for banks, corporates, and other participants. The network aimed to digitize traditionally paper-based processes such as receivables financing, payables financing (supply chain finance), and payment commitments. Despite forming a significant consortium of global banks and corporates, the company failed to secure further funding and filed for insolvency proceedings in late 2022, leading to its closure in early 2023.
