Mackinac Financial Corporation was a registered bank holding company headquartered in Manistique, Michigan. Its primary and sole subsidiary was mBank, a full-service community bank that provided a wide range of financial services to individuals and businesses. Founded in 1934, mBank grew to serve communities throughout Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Northern Lower Peninsula. In April 2021, Mackinac Financial Corporation announced a definitive merger agreement with Nicolet Bankshares, Inc., and the acquisition was completed in the third quarter of 2021. Following the merger, all mBank branches were rebranded as Nicolet National Bank.
