mCASH
Information by Research Trustfinance
mCASH was a mobile payment solution developed in Norway by the SpareBank 1 Group. Launched in 2014, it was one of the first services of its kind in the country, allowing users to make peer-to-peer money transfers, pay for goods in-store, and complete online checkouts using their smartphones. In 2017, facing strong competition, mCASH merged with its main rival, Vipps (backed by DNB Bank), to create a unified and dominant mobile payment platform for the Norwegian market. The mCASH service was subsequently discontinued, and its users and technology were integrated into the Vipps platform.
