Litecoin
Information by Research Trustfinance
Litecoin (LTC) is a decentralized cryptocurrency created in October 2011 by former Google engineer Charlie Lee. It was designed as a "lite" version of Bitcoin, often referred to as the "silver to Bitcoin's gold," offering faster transaction confirmation times and a different hashing algorithm (Scrypt). The project is open-source and not owned or operated by a single entity. Its ongoing development and promotion are primarily supported by the Litecoin Foundation, a non-profit organization incorporated in Singapore, which works to advance the adoption and utility of Litecoin globally.
