Originally chartered in 1950 as Food Town Credit Union, Lion's Share Federal Credit Union was established to serve the employees of Food Town grocery stores, which later became Food Lion, LLC. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, its mission is to provide its members with a safe place to save and borrow at reasonable rates. The credit union offers a range of personal banking services, including savings and checking accounts, auto loans, personal loans, and credit cards, all while returning earnings to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher interest on deposits, and fewer fees.
