Its primary mission was to provide a marketplace for individual investors to fund loans for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), offering potentially higher returns than traditional bank savings. Amid a nationwide regulatory crackdown on the P2P lending industry due to widespread risk and instances of fraud, Itouzi.com faced a severe liquidity crisis starting in 2019 and ultimately ceased new operations. The company is currently under police investigation and is undergoing a formal liquidation and exit process.
