Formerly known as the Swiss Futures and Options Association (SFOA), the ICDA was established in 1993 as a non-profit organization. Its mission is to connect and represent a diverse range of stakeholders within the international commodities and derivatives industry. Members include exchanges, clearing houses, banks, trading companies, shipping firms, and service providers like IT companies and law firms. The association focuses on addressing key industry issues, promoting best practices, and facilitating networking through events, most notably the annual Bürgenstock conference.
