Originally established as the Insurance Ombudsman Scheme in 1995, the organization was renamed the Insurance & Financial Services Ombudsman Scheme (IFSO Scheme) in 2003 to reflect its broader scope. In 2010, it was rebranded to its current name, Financial Services Complaints Ltd (FSCL). FSCL is a government-approved external dispute resolution (EDR) scheme that is free for consumers. Its mission is to provide fair, effective, and accessible resolution of disputes between consumers and their financial service providers, which include insurers, financial advisers, lenders, and credit providers.
