It launched its services in Japan in early 2019 after acquiring a majority stake in the licensed Japanese exchange, BitTrade. The company operated under strict compliance with Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA), offering spot trading for various cryptocurrencies to Japanese residents. In February 2023, following a change in ownership, Huobi Japan was officially rebranded back to BitTrade Co., Ltd. to establish a distinct brand identity focused solely on the Japanese market, continuing its mission to provide a secure, reliable, and user-friendly crypto-asset trading environment.
