Originally founded in 1970 as CPC Employees Credit Union, the institution has grown through mergers, including one with Owatonna-based Hometown Credit Union in 2018, officially becoming a single entity under the Hometown Credit Union name in 2021. As a not-for-profit cooperative, its mission is to be a trusted financial partner dedicated to the success of its members and communities. It reinvests profits back into the credit union to offer better rates, lower fees, and improved services, distinguishing it from traditional for-profit banks.
