Hive Project was a fintech company that aimed to revolutionize invoice financing by creating a decentralized platform on the Ethereum blockchain. Launched via an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in 2017, its mission was to provide SMEs with fast and low-cost liquidity by allowing them to sell their invoices to investors. The platform used its native cryptocurrency, the Hive Project Token (HVN), to facilitate these transactions. Despite raising millions in its ICO, the project faced challenges and announced in May 2020 that it was shutting down operations indefinitely, making the platform and its token effectively defunct.
