Founded in 2005, the Hartford Community Loan Fund (HCLF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Its mission is to provide flexible financing and technical assistance to create and preserve affordable housing and build economic opportunities for low-to-moderate-income individuals and communities. HCLF pools capital from socially-motivated investors, banks, foundations, and government sources to provide loans for projects that may not qualify for traditional financing.
