Halifax New Zealand Limited was a financial services company that offered online trading platforms, primarily MetaTrader 4, for clients to trade in a variety of financial instruments including Forex, indices, commodities, and share CFDs. The company was part of a larger group with a significant presence in Australia. In November 2018, following an investigation by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA), the High Court of New Zealand placed the company into liquidation due to significant operational issues, most notably the failure to properly segregate and account for client funds. The company is now defunct, and its affairs are being managed by the appointed liquidators, KPMG.
