FitPay, Inc., originally developed by Gortek Ventures LLC, was a B2B financial technology company that provided a platform for device manufacturers to add contactless payment and authentication services to their products. Using near-field communication (NFC) and tokenization technology from partners like Visa and Mastercard, FitPay allowed consumers to make secure, tap-to-pay purchases with wearables like smartwatches and fitness trackers. In 2017, the company was acquired by Garmin Ltd. and its technology and team became the foundation for the Garmin Pay™ contactless payment service.
