The Gibraltar Blockchain Exchange (GBX), operated by GBX Limited, was launched in 2018 as a subsidiary of the Gibraltar Stock Exchange (GSX) Group. Its mission was to become a world-leading, regulated digital asset exchange and token sale platform, offering a trusted and secure environment for listing and trading cryptocurrencies and digital tokens. It was one of the first exchanges to be fully regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) under its DLT Regulatory Framework. However, in late 2021, the exchange announced it would cease trading operations and no longer accept new users, though it remains licensed to allow existing customers to withdraw their funds.
