Genesis Global Capital, LLC was a pioneering and one of the largest digital currency prime brokerages for institutional clients. A subsidiary of the Digital Currency Group (DCG), it provided a single point of access for trading, borrowing, lending, and custody of digital assets. The company's lending arm was a critical source of liquidity in the crypto market. However, it suffered catastrophic losses following the collapses of Three Arrows Capital in mid-2022 and FTX in late 2022, leading it to halt customer withdrawals in November 2022 and ultimately file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January 2023.
