Gate, formerly known as AjoBank, is a financial technology company dedicated to bridging the financial gap for African migrants. The company began as AjoBank, a platform aimed at digitizing traditional community savings models (known as "Ajo") in Nigeria. It has since rebranded and pivoted its focus to provide a comprehensive financial operating system for migrants, enabling them to open multi-currency accounts (GBP, NGN, etc.), obtain debit cards, and perform seamless international money transfers. Gate states it is not a bank but provides its services in partnership with licensed financial institutions in the regions it operates.
