The Fondo Regional de Garantías de Santander S.A. is a financial services company established in 1995, operating as a mixed-economy entity (part public, part private). Its primary mission is to support the economic and social development of the Santander region in Colombia by acting as a guarantor for MSMEs. By providing guarantees and sureties, the company mitigates the risk for traditional financial intermediaries (banks), thereby increasing the likelihood of credit approval for small businesses that might otherwise lack sufficient collateral. The company is supervised by the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia (Financial Superintendence of Colombia).
