The Fondo de Coberturas Crediticias (FOCOCRE) is a special account managed by the Fondo Nacional del Ahorro (FNA) in Colombia. Established by the National Government, its primary mission is to facilitate access to housing financing for Colombian households. It achieves this by providing credit risk coverage to financial institutions that grant mortgage loans for non-social interest housing (No VIS). This coverage protects lenders against potential losses from borrower defaults, thereby encouraging them to offer more favorable loan conditions and expand access to credit in the housing sector.
