Founded in 1994 as the University of Strathclyde Credit Union, the organization expanded to become the First Scottish University Credit Union (FSCU). It operates as a not-for-profit financial co-operative, owned and managed by its members. FSCU's mission is to promote thrift by providing a safe and convenient way to save and to offer access to affordable loans and other financial services for its members, who are drawn from the student, staff, and graduate communities of several Scottish universities.
