Originally chartered in 1946 as Jax-Air Federal Credit Union to serve the military and civilian personnel at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, the institution has grown significantly over the decades. In 1999, it changed its name to First Coast Federal Credit Union to better reflect its expanding community charter. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, its mission is to provide its members with affordable financial services, including savings and checking accounts, auto loans, mortgages, and personal loans, while returning profits to members in the form of lower loan rates and higher savings yields.
