Information by Research Trustfinance
First Boulevard was a financial technology company that aimed to address the wealth gap in the United States by providing modern, fee-free digital banking services specifically tailored for Black Americans. Founded in 2020 by Donald Hawkins and Asya Bradley, the company offered a checking account, a "Cash Back for Buying Black" program, early access to paychecks, and financial education tools. It operated in partnership with the FDIC-insured Metropolitan Commercial Bank. In July 2022, First Boulevard ceased its consumer banking operations and its technology and customer accounts were acquired by Kinly, another neobank with a similar mission.
