Fireman's Fund Insurance Company
Information by Research Trustfinance
Founded in 1863 in San Francisco, Fireman's Fund Insurance Company had a long and storied history as a major American insurer. It gained renown for paying out all claims after the devastating 1906 San Francisco earthquake, a pivotal moment that cemented its reputation for reliability. The company specialized in property and casualty insurance, with a strong focus on high-net-worth personal insurance, as well as commercial lines for industries like entertainment and marine. In 1991, it was acquired by the German financial services giant Allianz SE. In 2015, Allianz restructured its US operations, fully integrating the commercial property and casualty business of Fireman's Fund into Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) and selling the personal lines business. The Fireman's Fund brand has since been retired.
