Financiera Mexicana para el Desarrollo Rural, S.A. de C.V., S.F.P., commonly known as Financiera Rural, was a Mexican government development bank created in 2002 to replace Banrural. Its primary mission was to promote sustainable rural development by providing credit and financial services to producers and intermediaries in the agricultural, forestry, and fishing industries. In 2013, it was transformed into a new entity, Financiera Nacional de Desarrollo Agropecuario, Rural, Forestal y Pesquero (FND), to broaden its scope. However, in May 2023, the Mexican government decreed the dissolution and liquidation of FND due to its financial and operational unsustainability, officially ending the operations of this line of state-owned rural development banks.
