Finance Trust Bank began in 1984 as Uganda Women's Finance and Credit Trust Limited (UWFCT), an NGO focused on providing financial services to low-income women. It evolved into a Micro Deposit-taking Institution (MDI) in 2005 and was granted a full commercial banking license by the Bank of Uganda in 2014. The bank's mission is to be the leading financial institution for women in Uganda, offering a comprehensive range of products and services including personal and business accounts, loans, money transfers, and digital banking solutions to empower its customers economically.
