Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut, Fifth Street Asset Management Inc. (formerly NASDAQ: FSAM) was an alternative asset manager specializing in credit strategies. The firm provided investment advisory services to its two publicly-traded business development companies (BDCs), Fifth Street Finance Corp. (FSC) and Fifth Street Senior Floating Rate Corp. (FSFR), as well as to private funds. Their focus was on providing customized financing solutions to small and mid-sized companies primarily in the United States. In 2017, the company ceased independent operations after being acquired by Oaktree Capital Management, which took over the management of its funds.
