Exide Life Insurance Company Limited was a 100% Indian-owned life insurance company, majority-owned by Exide Industries Ltd. It began operations in 2001 as ING Vysya Life Insurance and was headquartered in Bengaluru. The company served over a million customers through a multi-channel distribution network that included an agency force, bancassurance partners, and direct channels. In January 2022, HDFC Life Insurance completed the acquisition of Exide Life Insurance, and the brand was subsequently merged and rebranded into HDFC Life. All existing policies and customer services for former Exide Life customers are now managed by HDFC Life.
