European Merchant Services (EMS) was founded as a joint venture between First Data (now Fiserv) and ABN AMRO. The company established itself as a leading payment solutions provider in Europe, particularly in the Benelux region, specializing in card acquiring services for merchants. EMS provided comprehensive solutions for in-store (point-of-sale terminals), online, and omni-channel payments. Following Fiserv's acquisition of First Data, EMS has been fully integrated into Fiserv's global operations, and its brand and website now redirect to Fiserv's regional offerings, continuing to provide payment technology services under the Fiserv name.
