Essel Forex Limited, formerly a part of the Essel Group, was a prominent player in India's foreign exchange market. Operating with an Authorized Dealer Category – II license from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the company provided a range of services including currency exchange, prepaid forex travel cards, and international money transfers for individuals and corporations. In 2017, US-based software and e-commerce firm Ebix, Inc. acquired a majority stake in the company, which has since been fully integrated into Ebix's Indian subsidiary, EbixCash, and operates under the EbixCash brand.
