Established in 1962, Eksportfinans ASA's original mission was to provide long-term financing for the Norwegian export sector, facilitating the sale of Norwegian capital goods and services globally. Since 2012, when the Norwegian government established a new entity for this purpose, Eksportfinans has ceased providing new loans and has been in a state of orderly wind-down. Its current operations are focused on professionally managing its existing portfolio of loans and liabilities until maturity.
