Originally a subsidiary of Handelsbanken, Ecster AB was a Swedish financial company that provided payment solutions and consumer credit services. Its offerings targeted both merchants, for whom it supplied in-store and e-commerce payment systems (including "buy now, pay later" options), and private individuals, to whom it offered credit cards, private loans, and installment payment plans. In February 2023, Handelsbanken announced its decision to integrate Ecster's operations back into the bank. The Ecster brand and its standalone services were officially phased out during the first half of 2024, with all customer relationships and products being transferred to Handelsbanken.
