Founded in 1848, East Boston Savings Bank (EBSB) was a community-focused financial institution serving the Greater Boston area for over 170 years. The bank offered a comprehensive suite of products including personal and business checking and savings accounts, commercial and industrial loans, commercial real estate and multifamily loans, residential mortgages, and construction loans. With a mission centered on customer service and community development, EBSB grew to become a prominent local bank before its holding company, EBSB Bancorp, Inc., merged with Independent Bank Corp., the parent company of Rockland Trust, in a deal completed in November 2021.
