Digital Asset Custody Company (acquired by Bakkt)
Information by Research TrustFinance
Digital Asset Custody Company (DACC) was a fintech company focused on providing secure and compliant custody services for cryptocurrencies and other digital assets. The company was in the process of obtaining a trust charter from the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) to become a "qualified custodian" for institutional clients. In April 2019, DACC was acquired by Bakkt, a digital asset platform founded by the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). The acquisition was a strategic move for Bakkt to accelerate its path to becoming a regulated custodian, leveraging DACC's team, technology, and progress with regulators to launch its own institutional custody offering, Bakkt Warehouse.
