DEBT MANAGERS STANDARDS ASSOCIATION LIMITED
Information by Research TrustFinance
The Debt Managers Standards Association (DEMSA) was an independent, non-profit trade body for the UK's debt management industry. Established in 2009, its primary mission was to raise standards across the sector by creating and enforcing a strict Code of Conduct for its member companies. The association aimed to ensure that consumers seeking debt help were treated fairly and received high-quality, transparent advice. DEMSA ceased trading in late 2016 and was formally dissolved in 2017 after the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) took over full regulation of the consumer credit market, making DEMSA's self-regulatory role redundant.
