Currensee
Information by Research Trustfinance
Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Boston, Currensee was one of the first online social networks for foreign exchange (forex) traders. The company developed a platform where retail traders could link their existing brokerage accounts and automatically mirror the investment strategies of top-performing traders, known as "Trade Leaders." This model of copy trading provided a way for less experienced investors to participate in the forex market by leveraging the expertise of others. In September 2013, Currensee was acquired by the global forex broker OANDA. However, OANDA ultimately decided to shut down the Currensee platform on October 31, 2014, to focus on integrating the underlying technology and talent into its own proprietary offerings.
